HALAL CONFERENCE 2019 REINFORCES MALAYSIA’S POSITION AS AN IMPORTANT GLOBAL HALAL

Kuala Lumpur– The 11th World Halal Conference 2019 (WHC
2019) the leading international-scale platform for convergence that underscores Malaysia's commitment to further develop
the Halal industry
has successfully wrapped up its annual Halal conference today.WHC 2019 drew a
highly engaged audience of Government representatives, business leaders, halal
industry players, entrepreneurs, scholars and stakeholders; and offered a
compelling line up of industry experts and keynote speakers.
A series of insightful sessions and
panel discussions convened by industry experts were organised to focus on the
growth phase, to explore opportunities and challenges aimed at integrating
technological advancements, ethical governance and emerging market, through a
plethora of topics on the progressive impacts of the halal economy.
"WHC 2019 was by all accounts, a
tremendous success and I feel we've set a very high bar for ourselves for next
year," said The Hon. Senator Dr.RadziJidin, the Deputy Minister of
Economic Affairs. "Attendance and general interest in the event exceeded
our initial projections where more than 1200 delegates from 50 countries
attended the 2-day conference. We made major partnership announcements, collaborations,
launched a new service andreceived overwhelmingly positive feedback from all
delegates." he ended.
The WHC 2019 also witnessed the launch
of BUNGKUS by HONESTBEE, a mobile apps-based food delivery service company
committedto ensure the Halal status of the products delivered is uncompromised
throughout the delivery process. BUNGKUS by HONESTBEE is the first Halal-certified
food delivery service in Malaysia that only delivers from Halal-certified
merchants. The launch was graced by Hanisofian Alias, Vice President Industry
Development, Halal Industry Development Corporation.

economy initiatives, the launch of the first Halal-certifiedfood delivery
service, BUNGKUS by HONESTBEEdoesn’t just reflect onthe rising demand for Halal
services but also theneed to integrate technology within the Halal ecosystem to
accelerate the growth of the Halal industry.” said Hanisofian.
This year’s conferencesaw strategic
collaboration of several partners including, Duopharma Biotech Berhad, Nestle Malaysia,
McDonalds Malaysia, Echo Foxtrot SdnBhd (Bungkus by Honestbee), Malaysian
Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Hong Leong Islamic Bank and
Association of Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM).
“We are honoured to see such strong
commitment from our industry partners, together with the participation of foreign
delegates and renowned speakers who will make this year’s conference a
success. We urge for their continuous
support; together we can take the Halal Industry to new heights, at
international and local,” said YB Senator Dr.Radzi.
Presenting the theme “Fostering A Robust
Halal Economy: Global Integration and Ethical Practice”, WHC 2019 provided a
platform for halal policymakers and stakeholders from across the world to share
their experiences in using technology to capture the halal market. The WHC 2019
closed its curtain today, on the 4 April 2019.
